In October 2010, CIC Agency and Group Benefits, Ltd. began a collaborative effort to bring agents additional products and opportunities. The past year has proven successful for our joint effort and for CIC Agency agents.

On October 1, 2011, CIC Agency announced that they would fully transfer the life and health operations to GBL. Jennifer Sprague will continue to be an integral part of this partnership and will assume the role of Broker Recruitment Specialist for GBL.

What do CIC Agency agents need to do?
- Complete the GBL Affiliate Agreement, if you haven't already.
To continue receiving commissions you earned under CIC Agency, you must complete a GBL Affiliate Agreement by Nov. 1. Return agreements to Cyndi Wagner by email at cwagner@grpbenltd.com or fax to (515) 222-5342.
- Mutual of Omaha Med Supp commissions to increase.
Under GBL, agent commissions will increase to 15% for years 1-6 on Mutual of Omaha Med Supp business written with effective dates of Oct. 1, 2011, and later. If you were contracted with Mutual under CIC Agency, your contract will be transferred automatically.
- Commissions paid by GBL.
GBL pays commissions on the 15th of each month (or the following business day if the 15th falls on a holiday or weekend). Commissions are paid via direct deposit and statements are available on the GBL Agent Portal.

Our Partnership
CIC Agency partnered with GBL in order to diversify their business and offer their agents and clients more options. Through GBL, P&C agents can increase sales with the Level 2 sales structure. Level 2 simplifies the sales process for agents and allows them to stay focused on their main lines of business.
1. Agents pass on a lead to their GBL sales contact.
The GBL team will shop the market, complete and submit applications, and keep the agent informed throughout the sale.
2. Agents get paid 50% normal broker commission.
Best of all, agents can choose to work Level 2 or the traditional sales structure (Level 1) on a case-by-case basis.
Working together, GBL and CIC Agency are able to provide the most up-to-date training and information on the newest insurance market trends. GBL's experts also provide customized marketing materials, selling tools, and guidance with the latest technology and social media platforms.
